Call for youth-led organization applications for Generation Equality Action Coalitions leadership

The call for youth-led organizations to apply for leadership positions in the six Generation Equality Forum Action Coalitions has been re-opened.

UN Women would like to ensure a strong intergenerational focus of the Action Coalitions and place the needs of adolescent girls and young women at the center of the Action Coalitions. The Action Coalitions are global, innovative, multi-stakeholder partnerships that bring together Member States, International Organizations, United Nations agencies, philanthropies, and private companies to advance gender equality across the world.

The Action Coalitions Leaders will define transformative actions in six themes that are critical for achieving gender equality: gender-based violence, economic justice and rights, bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive health and rights, feminist action for climate justice, technology and innovation for gender equality, and feminist movements and leadership. Adolescent girls and young women will be at the heart of each Action Coalition’s work.

The Action Coalitions Leaders will bring a deep commitment to and experience advancing gender equality and women’s human rights and reflect the different experiences and identities of women and girls from around the world.

You will find the detailed call for applications here. Contrary to the previous call for applications, this call is specifically for youth-led organizations and will close on 19 July 2020. Any youth-led organization that applied previously should resubmit their application. Please submit your letter of intent to actioncoalitions[at]unwomen.org.
